Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Aviation Psychology & Human Factors Intern to join our innovative team in Whistler, British Columbia. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects focused on enhancing safety, efficiency, and well-being within the aviation environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals on research, data analysis, and the development of solutions that integrate human factors principles into aircraft design, operational procedures, and training programs. This role is ideal for students passionate about applying psychological science to real-world aviation challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting literature reviews and research on aviation psychology and human factors topics.
  • Support data collection and analysis related to human performance, pilot fatigue, crew resource management, and human-system interaction.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of new training modules, operational procedures, or cockpit designs.
  • Participate in team meetings and present findings or progress reports to project stakeholders.
  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation of research outcomes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, pilots, and other specialists to integrate human factors considerations into various projects.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience or coursework in aviation, aerospace, or transportation.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS).
  • Experience with human-computer interaction (HCI) principles or usability testing.
  • Demonstrated interest in aviation safety and human performance.
