Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional, high-energy Nanny to join our family team in Cedar Rapids. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about fostering a fun and interactive environment for our children. This role requires a proactive individual who can plan engaging activities, support developmental milestones, and maintain a consistent, loving routine. You will play a crucial role in the children’s daily lives, ensuring their safety, happiness, and growth through positive interactions and imaginative play.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily engaging activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor play, educational games, and imaginative adventures.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, both at home and during outings.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Manage children's schedules, including school pickups/drop-offs, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
- Assist with light household duties related to the children, such as tidying play areas, organizing toys, and children's laundry.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and stimulating atmosphere conducive to learning and development.
- Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Provide consistent and constructive discipline, always focusing on positive reinforcement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience caring for children in a professional setting (e.g., nanny, daycare, teaching assistant)
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of energy, patience, and enthusiasm
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- At least 2 years of full-time nanny experience with verifiable references
- Knowledge of various child development stages and educational philosophies (e.g., Montessori, Reggio Emilia)
- Experience with children of varying ages
