Job Description

Join the Canadian Tire team as a Tire Fitter Assistant! This entry-level mechanical role is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in the automotive service industry. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You will work closely with experienced technicians, learning the fundamentals of tire installation, repair, and maintenance, while also assisting with general shop duties to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced technicians with tire changes, rotations, and balancing.
  • Learn and perform basic tire repairs under supervision.
  • Mount and dismount tires safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment.
  • Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation levels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
  • Assist with general shop maintenance and inventory tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring vehicles are handled with care and returned in a timely manner.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy tires (up to 50 lbs)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid G-class driver’s license
  • Previous experience in a physical labour role or automotive setting (even if not specific to tires)
