Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Salon Equipment Fitter to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, manual role involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of various salon equipment across diverse locations. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess excellent technical skills, and be comfortable with frequent travel to client sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that all salon equipment is installed correctly, safely, and efficiently, meeting our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to client locations to install new salon equipment, including chairs, wash units, styling stations, and specialized machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing salon equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals accurately.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and building codes.
- Provide clear communication with clients regarding installation progress and any potential issues.
- Manage and organize tools, equipment, and inventory required for installations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company.
- Complete necessary documentation, including service reports and time logs.
- Train clients on basic operation and maintenance of newly installed equipment when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a manual fitting, assembly, or installation role, preferably with commercial equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) regularly.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays when required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically with salon, spa, or healthcare equipment installation.
- Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Customer service experience in a field-based role.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
