Job Description
Are you passionate about music and making a positive impact on young lives? The Little Gym of Chesapeake is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Early Childhood Music Leader to join our team. This role focuses on delivering engaging, play-based music programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We provide comprehensive training, so no prior experience in leading music classes is required – just a love for children, a natural musicality, and a willingness to learn and grow with us. You will be instrumental in creating a fun and stimulating environment where children can explore rhythm, melody, and movement, fostering their cognitive and social development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging, age-appropriate play-based music classes for children aged 4 months to 5 years.
- Implement The Little Gym's proprietary music curriculum, adapting activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Create a positive, energetic, and safe learning environment where children and parents feel welcome and encouraged.
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and the benefits of our music programs.
- Assist with class registration, customer inquiries, and general gym operations as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and team meetings to enhance teaching skills and program delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized music classroom and ensure the proper use and storage of equipment.
- Act as a positive role model and ambassador for The Little Gym's values and mission.
Required Skills
- A genuine love for children and a passion for their development.
- Enthusiastic and energetic personality with strong communication skills.
- Basic understanding of musical concepts and ability to sing in tune.
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new curricula and teaching methodologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and engage in active participation with children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some experience working with young children (e.g., babysitting, camp counselor, volunteer).
- Background in music, dance, theater, or early childhood education.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
