Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aides to join our team for the night shift in a secure facility setting. This critical role involves providing essential personal care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will be reliable, empathetic, and possess a strong commitment to patient care in a structured environment. This position offers a night shift differential and the stability of working within a secure facility, rather than traditional in-home visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding during the night hours.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff promptly.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to all facility protocols and infection control standards.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, ensuring their comfort and peace of mind.
- Assist with medication reminders as directed by facility policies and care plans.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to patient calls and needs promptly and professionally.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations, particularly in a secure environment.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Florida or CNA license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant, preferably in a facility setting
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and reposition patients safely
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Reliable transportation to and from the facility
- CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a secure or specialized care facility
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Additional certifications in first aid or specialized patient care
- A passion for geriatric care
