Job Description
Are you a compassionate and skilled coach who thrives in a digital environment? BetterUp is seeking dedicated Text-Based Life Coaches to join our innovative platform. This unique role focuses entirely on written communication, providing personalized coaching and guidance to our members through our secure messaging system. You will empower individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals, develop new skills, and navigate challenges, all without the need for voice or video calls. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a profound impact through the power of text.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, personalized life coaching to members exclusively through text-based communication on the BetterUp platform.
- Guide members through self-discovery, goal setting, and action planning using evidence-based coaching methodologies.
- Provide empathetic support, constructive feedback, and accountability to help members overcome obstacles.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of coaching sessions and member progress.
- Continuously engage with BetterUp's learning resources and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to BetterUp's coaching ethics and guidelines to ensure a consistent and high-quality member experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in coaching, counseling, or a related field (minimum 2 years).
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey empathy, clarity, and motivation through text.
- Strong active listening and questioning abilities, even in a non-verbal context.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage a caseload effectively.
- Proficiency with digital communication platforms and comfortable with technology.
- Deep understanding of human psychology, behavior change, and goal-setting principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- ICF (International Coaching Federation) certification or equivalent professional coaching accreditation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience in digital or asynchronous coaching environments.
- Familiarity with positive psychology principles and growth mindset methodologies.
