We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Forklift Trainees in Brooklyn, NY. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in comprehensive forklift certification training programs, fully funded by FedEx.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines for warehouse equipment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties including loading, unloading, sorting, and staging packages and freight.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently once certified, under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to freight movement.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Basic physical ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and technologies.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (or actively working towards one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
