Job Description
We are seeking a highly talented and passionate Remote Digital Illustrator / Artist to join our dynamic network on a commission basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled artist to contribute to various Marvel projects from the comfort of their home. You will be responsible for creating compelling digital illustrations across a range of styles for comics, animation, merchandise, marketing materials, and other creative content. This role requires exceptional artistic skill, a strong understanding of visual storytelling, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment. Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality digital illustrations and artwork for various Marvel projects, adhering to specific project briefs and artistic guidelines.
- Collaborate remotely with creative directors, editors, and project managers to understand project requirements and feedback.
- Develop and maintain consistent character designs, environments, and visual styles across different projects.
- Iterate on artwork based on feedback, ensuring final deliverables meet quality and thematic standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and techniques in digital illustration and art.
- Prepare artwork files for various output formats (print, digital, animation) with precise technical specifications.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in digital illustration software such as Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or Procreate.
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing strong drawing, painting, and composition skills.
- Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and lighting.
- Ability to adapt to various artistic styles and replicate established brand aesthetics.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Experience with graphic tablets and digital art workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a freelance or commission-based artist for entertainment or publishing companies.
- Familiarity with Marvel characters, lore, and visual history.
- Experience with 3D software (e.g., Blender, ZBrush) for concepting or reference creation.
- Formal education in fine arts, illustration, graphic design, or a related field.
- Basic animation principles knowledge.
