Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated 18-year-old teens to join our Public Sector team as City Maintenance Hands. This ongoing full-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the upkeep and beautification of Charlotte, gaining invaluable work experience in a supportive public service environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining our city’s infrastructure, parks, and public spaces, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and enjoyable for all residents and visitors. This role is perfect for individuals looking to make a tangible impact on their community and develop practical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance tasks in city parks, public grounds, and facilities.
- Assist with landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and planting.
- Support street maintenance, such as litter removal, sweeping, and minor repairs.
- Operate various hand tools and light power equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
- Report any hazards, damage, or issues promptly to supervisors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors on various projects.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
- Learn and adapt to new maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Participate in routine inspections of public areas.
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years old at the time of application.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
