Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive EA Sports Community Moderator with a strong focus on safe gaming to join our team. In this hybrid role based in Pomona, CA, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive, respectful, and safe online environment across various EA Sports game communities. You will monitor player interactions, enforce community guidelines, address disruptive behavior, and contribute to the ongoing development of our safe gaming initiatives. This role requires excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and a passion for fostering healthy online communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor EA Sports game forums, social media channels, and in-game chat for compliance with community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Identify and address instances of harassment, hate speech, bullying, cheating, and other inappropriate content or behavior.
  • Issue warnings, suspensions, and bans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Investigate player reports and provide timely, empathetic, and constructive responses.
  • Collaborate with game development, legal, and player support teams to escalate complex issues and improve safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of community guidelines and moderation policies.
  • Educate players on safe gaming practices and promote positive community engagement.
  • Document moderation activities and report on trends in community behavior and issues.
  • Participate in ongoing training and stay informed about industry best practices in online safety and moderation.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making under pressure.
  • Strong empathy and ability to handle sensitive and confrontational situations professionally.
  • Familiarity with online community platforms and social media tools.
  • Deep understanding and passion for EA Sports titles and their respective communities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in identifying and addressing various forms of online misconduct.
  • Basic knowledge of data privacy and online safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in online community moderation, customer support, or content review.
  • Familiarity with moderation software and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with diverse global communities.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus.
  • Degree or coursework in communications, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
