Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry-level opportunity to start a career in healthcare? Walgreens is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Pharmacy Tech Trainees in New Port Richey, FL. No prior experience is required! We provide comprehensive, hands-on training to help you become a certified Pharmacy Technician. This role is perfect for someone eager to learn the fundamentals of pharmacy operations, assist pharmacists in providing excellent patient care, and grow within a supportive retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required training modules and on-the-job training to learn pharmacy operations and procedures.
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry, insurance verification, and basic compounding.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient questions, and resolving issues under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Prepare prescription labels and maintain patient records with meticulous attention to detail.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong desire to learn and develop a career in pharmacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any field
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures quickly
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
