Job Description
Are you ready to start an exciting career in the outdoor advertising industry? Pattison Outdoor Advertising is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Signage Installer Helper to join our team in Guelph. This is an entry-level outdoor role where no prior experience is required! We are seeking individuals who are eager to learn, enjoy working outdoors, and are committed to safety and quality. You will work alongside experienced installers, gaining hands-on experience in erecting, installing, and maintaining various types of outdoor signage. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a valuable trade skill set from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the safe and efficient installation of outdoor advertising signs, including billboards, transit shelter ads, and other large-format displays.
- Learn and apply proper safety procedures and protocols for working at heights, using hand and power tools, and operating equipment.
- Prepare installation sites, including staging materials and organizing tools.
- Help with the assembly and preparation of signage components.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing signage as directed.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor.
- Comfortable working at heights using appropriate safety equipment (training provided).
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles.
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience with basic hand tools or power tools (even in a hobby context).
- First Aid and CPR certification (training can be provided).
- Experience with working from ladders or elevated platforms.
