Job Description

Join our dynamic quality assurance team at Electronic Arts, focusing on the EA Sports portfolio with a connection to high-growth tech initiatives typically associated with our Austin hub. This role is based in Akron, Ohio, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to world-class gaming experiences. As a QA Tester, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and playability of our games, identifying and documenting bugs, and collaborating closely with development teams. We are looking for passionate individuals with an eagle eye for detail, a strong love for games, and a desire to grow within the exciting world of interactive entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases and test plans thoroughly to identify and reproduce software defects.
  • Accurately document, track, and escalate bugs using our internal bug tracking systems.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely feedback on game features, functionality, and overall user experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, and other QA team members.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test cases and bug reports.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes and methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, gaming platforms, and EA Sports titles.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
  • A passion for video games and familiarity with EA Sports titles.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in quality assurance or game testing (personal or professional).
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Experience with various gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Degree or coursework in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Understanding of the game development lifecycle.
