Job Description
Join the CVS Pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care and supporting our pharmacists. This position offers flexible part-time and full-time shifts to accommodate various schedules, and we have an immediate vacancy ready to be filled by a dedicated and compassionate individual. You will assist with dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the pharmacy. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient counseling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues.
- Operate pharmacy point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) required by the State of Texas or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be available for flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., RxConnect, Cerner, Epic).
- Experience with insurance billing and prior authorizations.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
