Job Description
Are you looking for a dynamic, hands-on role where you can contribute to a leading global logistics company without needing a driver’s license? UPS is seeking dedicated and energetic Delivery Helpers to join our team in Kailua, Hawaii. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who enjoy physical work, teamwork, and providing excellent customer service. As a Delivery Helper, you’ll ride alongside our experienced UPS drivers, assisting with the timely and efficient delivery and collection of packages. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, learn the ropes of the logistics industry, and be an essential part of our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS drivers in the delivery and pick-up of packages along designated routes.
- Load and unload packages from delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling and placement.
- Navigate various types of terrain and climb stairs to deliver packages to customer doors.
- Utilize scanners and other equipment to record delivery information accurately.
- Interact courteously and professionally with customers, representing UPS positively.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas within the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and supervisors regarding route progress and any issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (without assistance) and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent physical stamina and endurance for walking, standing, bending, and climbing throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions accurately.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Customer service-oriented approach.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- No driver's license required for this specific role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Familiarity with the Kailua and surrounding Honolulu areas.
- Experience with package handling or warehouse operations.
