Job Description
Are you passionate about music, an expert in various genres, and have a keen ear for emerging artists and trends? Spotify is seeking a talented and experienced Digital Music Curator to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling playlists, curating content for specific genres or moods, and ensuring our users discover the best music from around the globe. This position focuses heavily on optimizing content for our streaming platform, understanding listener behavior, and contributing to the overall user experience through expertly curated audio journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and curate music content across various genres, moods, and cultural contexts for Spotify's global platform.
- Develop and maintain a diverse portfolio of playlists, ensuring freshness, relevance, and alignment with editorial strategies.
- Monitor music trends, artist releases, and industry developments to inform content selection and curation efforts.
- Analyze listening data and user feedback to optimize playlist performance and content recommendations.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and data science teams to enhance user discovery and engagement.
- Manage content scheduling and programming for specific editorial initiatives and campaigns.
- Provide expert insights on music trends and artist performance to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in music curation, A&R, or editorial roles within the music industry, preferably with a focus on streaming platforms.
- Demonstrable expertise in multiple music genres and an extensive knowledge of current and emerging artists.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable content strategies.
- Exceptional taste, creativity, and a deep understanding of what resonates with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using content management systems and data analytics tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with international music markets and cultural nuances.
- Proficiency in an additional language (beyond English).
- Proven track record of building highly engaged audiences through curated content.
