Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a casual weekend roster. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexible weekend hours while contributing to the health of our Grand Prairie community. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists, ensuring efficient prescription processing, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Process patient prescriptions, including data entry and insurance claims.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves and managing expired medications.
- Operate pharmacy systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Prepare medication orders and label products under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Texas.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software.
- Commitment to patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Familiarity with various insurance plans and billing procedures.
