Job Description

As a Personal Travel Assistant with a Global Focus, you will be the cornerstone of personalized travel experiences for our discerning clients. This role involves meticulously planning and coordinating complex international itineraries, understanding diverse cultural nuances, and providing seamless support for business and leisure travel needs across various time zones. You will leverage your expertise to anticipate needs, resolve challenges proactively, and ensure every journey is executed flawlessly, reflecting the premium service Amex GBT is known for. This hybrid position requires a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to engage with a global clientele while contributing to our team in Louisville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end travel logistics for a portfolio of global clients, including flights, accommodations, ground transportation, and activities.
  • Develop highly customized itineraries tailored to individual client preferences, corporate policies, and international travel regulations.
  • Provide real-time support and problem-solving for travelers, addressing unexpected changes, delays, or emergencies with efficiency and discretion.
  • Utilize Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and other travel technology platforms to secure bookings and manage reservations.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships through proactive communication, exceptional service delivery, and a deep understanding of their travel patterns.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of global travel trends, visa requirements, health advisories, and cultural considerations.
  • Process expense reports, manage invoices, and ensure accurate record-keeping for all travel arrangements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a cohesive and high-quality service experience.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate or luxury travel planning.
  • Proficiency in at least one major Global Distribution System (GDS) such as Sabre, Amadeus, or Galileo.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex itineraries simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with high-profile clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and problem-solving under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of international travel logistics, including visa requirements, customs, and global travel advisories.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Multilingual capabilities (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin).
  • Experience with VIP or executive travel support.
  • Certification from a recognized travel industry association (e.g., CTC, CTA).
  • Familiarity with travel expense management software.
