Job Description
Join the FedEx team as a Part-time Freight Sorter, contributing to the efficient flow of packages during weekend night shifts. This role involves physical sorting, loading, and unloading of freight in a fast-paced warehouse environment. We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented individuals who can thrive in a team setting and ensure timely delivery of shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and scan packages accurately by destination.
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently onto trucks and conveyor belts.
- Operate powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) after proper training, if required.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in sorting.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
