Job Description
As a FedEx Ground Shift Coordinator with Leadership Potential, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of our package handling facility during your assigned shift. This position is ideal for individuals eager to develop their leadership capabilities, manage teams, and optimize processes in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will be responsible for ensuring safety standards are met, productivity goals are achieved, and packages are sorted and loaded accurately and on schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct package handlers during sorting and loading operations.
- Monitor daily performance metrics and work to achieve productivity targets.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies.
- Provide training, coaching, and feedback to team members.
- Assist with scheduling, timecard management, and administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with management, team members, and other departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Handle package irregularities and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and maneuver heavy packages.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a package handling or logistics environment.
- Experience with FedEx Ground operational systems.
- Associate's degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a production or warehouse setting.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
