Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Pinterest Business Analyst to join our Strategy & Insights team. In this role, you will be instrumental in extracting meaningful insights from complex data to inform strategic business decisions, optimize product features, and enhance the Pinner experience. You will work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to identify trends, evaluate performance, and model potential outcomes. This is a crucial position for driving growth and understanding the dynamics of our visual discovery platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep-dive analysis into Pinterest user behavior, content performance, and engagement metrics to identify key drivers of growth and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Partner with product managers to define KPIs, set up A/B tests, and analyze experimental results to inform product development cycles.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to understand industry trends and identify strategic advantages for Pinterest.
- Build predictive models and forecasts to project future performance and guide resource allocation.
- Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
- Proactively identify data gaps and work with data engineering to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our data analytics capabilities and tools.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or similar insights-focused role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth data analysis, interpret trends, and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and A/B testing methodologies.
- Advanced Excel skills for data modeling and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Business Analytics.
- Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with the Pinterest platform and its ecosystem.
- Experience in the social media, e-commerce, or advertising technology industries.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hive, Spark).
