Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transcription Aide to join our administrative support team in Wesley Chapel. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Transcription Aide will be responsible for accurately transcribing various audio recordings into written documents, ensuring high levels of precision and adherence to established guidelines. This role requires excellent listening skills, fast and accurate typing, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately transcribe audio recordings of medical reports, patient notes, meetings, and other administrative communications into written documents.
  • Review and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and completeness.
  • Ensure all transcribed information adheres to AdventHealth's confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage and organize digital audio files and transcribed documents efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with other administrative staff and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Meet daily transcription quotas and deadlines.
  • Maintain and update transcription style guides and glossaries.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Exceptional listening and comprehension skills.
  • Strong typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading abilities.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in transcription or data entry is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Experience with transcription software.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare administration.
