Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting pharmacists with various tasks, ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications, and providing exceptional customer service. This position offers a dynamic environment where you can grow your skills and contribute significantly to patient well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription requests, including data entry and insurance billing.
- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers regarding prescription status and inquiries.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and managing returns.
- Answer phones, manage patient queues, and provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support pharmacy operations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Pharmacy Technician license/certification in Florida (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting (6 months+)
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., RxConnect)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
