Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly energetic Wellness Screening Nurse to join our dynamic team, specializing in corporate events. This role is crucial for engaging with our community and corporate partners, delivering essential health screenings, and promoting wellness initiatives. You will be responsible for conducting various health assessments, providing basic health education, and ensuring a positive and informative experience for all participants at our corporate events. This position requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and is passionate about preventative health.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct health screenings including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and other basic health metrics at corporate and community events.
- Provide participants with clear, concise, and actionable information regarding their screening results and general health education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all screenings and participant interactions.
- Operate and troubleshoot screening equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with event coordinators and other team members to ensure smooth event flow and participant experience.
- Represent Kaiser Permanente professionally and positively at all times, embodying our commitment to health and wellness.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and material organization as needed.
- Engage participants actively, creating a high-energy and welcoming atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Proven experience in conducting health screenings or wellness assessments.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in dynamic event settings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight equipment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in community health, public health, or corporate wellness programs.
- Certifications in BLS and/or ACLS.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
