Job Description

Are you a student looking for a flexible way to earn money while enjoying the great outdoors and spending time with furry friends? Wag! is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our network of independent Student Dog Walkers in St. Petersburg, FL. This is an incredible opportunity to manage your own schedule, work around your studies, and get paid to exercise and bond with dogs. No prior professional experience is required, just a genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and responsibly walk dogs according to owner instructions and local leash laws.
  • Ensure the pet's comfort and safety at all times during walks.
  • Provide fresh water and basic pet care as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and photos during and after walks.
  • Follow all specific client requests regarding pet behavior, routes, and feeding schedules.
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability for all scheduled appointments.
  • Handle minor pet emergencies calmly and responsibly, notifying owners immediately.
  • Adhere to Wag!'s community guidelines and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Physical fitness and ability to walk dogs for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Must own a smartphone and be comfortable using mobile applications.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience owning or caring for dogs.
  • Knowledge of basic dog behavior and common breeds.
  • Familiarity with pet first aid or willingness to learn.
  • Strong local knowledge of St. Petersburg neighborhoods and parks.
