Join UPS as a Hospital Porter, an essential role within our Logistics & Supply Chain team, dedicated to supporting healthcare facilities. In this critical position, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients, medical equipment, and supplies throughout a hospital environment. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. You will be a key part of ensuring smooth hospital operations, contributing directly to patient well-being and the efficient delivery of healthcare services. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds between departments (e.g., wards, operating theaters, radiology) in a timely manner.
- Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient records, and supplies throughout the hospital.
- Assist with the transfer of patients to and from vehicles, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment, reporting any faults or damage immediately.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, their families, and hospital staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Assist in the management and tracking of medical inventory and supplies within the hospital logistics framework.
- Respond promptly to requests for portering services from various hospital departments.
- Ensure the correct and secure delivery of specimens and confidential documents.
