Job Description
As a DIY Content Editor focusing on Pinterest-inspired projects, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, developing, and refining engaging content for our digital platforms. This 100% remote role requires a passionate individual with a keen eye for trending DIY crafts, home decor projects, and lifestyle hacks that resonate with our audience and perform exceptionally well on visual platforms like Pinterest. You will work closely with our editorial team to transform creative ideas into publishable, step-by-step guides, articles, and visual assets, ensuring they are both inspiring and easy to follow. This position offers the flexibility to contribute from anywhere while collaborating with a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify trending DIY and craft topics on Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms.
- Develop original content ideas for step-by-step tutorials, feature articles, and comprehensive visual guides.
- Write, edit, and proofread engaging and accurate DIY content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand voice and style guides.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to produce high-quality visual assets that complement written content.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) and Pinterest discoverability, including keyword research and pin descriptions.
- Manage content from conception through publication, adhering to editorial calendars, deadlines, and project budgets.
- Track content performance metrics (e.g., page views, social shares, Pinterest saves) and provide insights for future content strategy.
- Stay updated on the latest DIY trends, materials, tools, and crafting techniques to maintain content relevance and innovation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in content creation and editing, specifically within the DIY, home decor, or craft niche.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of US English grammar and style.
- Demonstrated understanding of SEO best practices and content optimization for visual platforms like Pinterest.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and an understanding of how to pair compelling visuals with written instructions.
- Proficiency with various content management systems (CMS) for publishing and editing digital content.
- A genuine passion for DIY projects, creative crafting, and a desire to inspire others through engaging content.
