Job Description

Clark Nexsen is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architecture Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in Norfolk, VA. This position offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals looking to advance their careers with visa sponsorship for qualified candidates. As an Architecture Draftsperson, you will play a crucial role in transforming architectural designs into precise technical drawings and documentation. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers, contributing to a diverse range of projects from concept through construction. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of architectural principles, excellent drafting skills, and proficiency in industry-standard software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and details using CAD and BIM software.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure design intent is accurately translated into technical documentation.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and schedules in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Review and verify drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established drafting standards and building codes.
  • Incorporate redline markups and design revisions efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving.
  • Support project teams throughout all phases of design and construction.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong understanding of architectural drafting principles, standards, and conventions.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing construction documents for various building types.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
  • Experience with other architectural software such as SketchUp, Rhino, or Enscape.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations (Virginia, specifically Norfolk/Hampton Roads area).
  • Previous experience in a professional architectural or engineering firm.
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant drafting and detailing work.
