Job Description

Join the dedicated team at New Port Richey City Council as a Weekend Street Sweeper! This part-time position offers stable employment within our Public Works department, contributing directly to the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our vibrant city. You will be responsible for manually sweeping and maintaining designated street areas, sidewalks, and public spaces during weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities

  • Manually sweep designated street sections, sidewalks, and public areas.
  • Collect and dispose of litter, debris, and refuse in accordance with city guidelines.
  • Operate basic hand tools such as brooms, shovels, and litter pickers.
  • Empty public waste receptacles as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
  • Report any hazards, maintenance needs, or unusual observations to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assigned equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support city cleanliness initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds, for extended periods.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance, especially for weekend shifts.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
