Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Associate to join our rapidly expanding fintech team. This is a fully remote position, focusing on supporting our financial operations, analysis, and strategic initiatives within a dynamic startup environment. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of financial principles, a passion for technology, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving landscape. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial data, contributing to key reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and reconciliations.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data collection and model updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Operations) to gather financial data and insights.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Help optimize financial processes and implement new tools or systems.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a financial role, preferably within a startup or fintech environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial software or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
- Familiarity with SQL or other data querying languages.
- Understanding of financial regulations specific to the fintech industry.
- Proven ability to adapt to new challenges and learn quickly in a rapidly changing environment.
