Job Description
Join CEMEX as a Dump Truck Driver, playing a vital role in our construction projects across the Wesley Chapel area and broader Pasco County. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting various construction materials, such as aggregates, sand, and asphalt, to and from job sites. This is an essential position requiring a strong commitment to safety regulations, adherence to delivery schedules, and meticulous maintenance of your vehicle. Key Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Transport materials like aggregates, sand, dirt, and asphalt to and from construction sites, quarries, and processing plants.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, maintaining accurate driver logs and reporting any mechanical issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials, coordinating with dispatch and site supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck and perform minor routine maintenance as needed.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company guidelines regarding vehicle operation and material handling.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as required, ensuring proper weight distribution.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the job, including climbing, bending, and lifting.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dump trucks in a construction or aggregate environment.
- Experience with different types of construction materials (e.g., asphalt, concrete aggregates).
- HAZMAT endorsement is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED.
