Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Terminal Operator for a direct hire opportunity in our Houston midstream operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pipeline and terminal facilities, including receiving, storing, and transferring crude oil, refined products, or natural gas liquids (NGLs). This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, environmental compliance, and operational integrity. The Terminal Operator will work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring continuous and reliable operations and responding to alarms and emergencies as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate pumps, valves, compressors, and other terminal equipment to facilitate the safe and efficient transfer of products.
  • Monitor control panels, SCADA systems, and field instruments to ensure optimal operating conditions and adherence to parameters.
  • Conduct routine inspections of terminal facilities, equipment, and pipelines, identifying and reporting any anomalies or potential issues.
  • Perform tank gauging, sampling, and quality control tests to ensure product integrity.
  • Execute start-up, shut-down, and emergency procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  • Complete accurate operational logs, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and drills to maintain a high level of safety awareness and preparedness.
  • Respond to alarms, operational upsets, and emergency situations promptly and effectively, following established procedures.
  • Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment as required, coordinating with maintenance teams for complex repairs.
  • Adhere to all environmental regulations and company policies regarding spill prevention and control.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in terminal operations, pipeline operations, or a related industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of midstream operations, including crude oil, NGLs, or refined products.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and operating SCADA systems and control panels.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for reporting and team coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental compliance, with a thorough understanding of HAZWOPER, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various weather conditions.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Process Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
