Job Description

United Way Suncoast is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Social Impact Associate with a strong focus on community research. This entry-level role is crucial for supporting our mission by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to community needs, program effectiveness, and social trends within Pasco County. You will play a vital role in informing strategic decisions, evaluating impact, and ensuring our initiatives are evidence-based and responsive to the community. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary and secondary research on community needs, demographic trends, and social determinants of health within Pasco County.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of surveys, focus groups, and interviews with community members and stakeholders.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate research methodologies and software.
  • Support the preparation of comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards summarizing research findings and insights.
  • Collaborate with program managers and leadership to translate research data into actionable recommendations for program development and improvement.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for social impact initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date research documentation and databases.
  • Participate in community meetings and events to foster relationships and gather on-the-ground perspectives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong research and analytical skills, including experience with data collection and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in social justice, community development, and addressing societal challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata) or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methodologies.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a non-profit, research, or community-focused organization.
  • Knowledge of the Pasco County community and its unique challenges/opportunities.
