Job Description
Baker Hughes is seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious Oil Field Drivers to join our dynamic team. This critical role involves the safe and efficient transportation of specialized equipment, hazardous materials, and essential supplies to various oil and gas field sites. You will operate heavy-duty vehicles, often in challenging terrains and conditions, adhering strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. This position offers a rotation schedule and includes high hazard pay, reflecting the demanding nature and vital importance of the role within our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor-trailers, tankers, and specialty equipment, to transport materials to and from oil and gas field locations.
- Safely load and unload equipment and materials, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, mileage reports, and delivery documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and company safety protocols.
- Handle hazardous materials according to safety guidelines, including proper placarding and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, field personnel, and supervisors regarding schedules, delays, and site conditions.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and ensure cleanliness of equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, preferably in the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Record – MVR)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Ability to work a demanding rotation schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating off-road vehicles or in challenging terrain.
- Knowledge of oilfield equipment and operations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs.
- OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
