Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles to pick up and deliver packages to commercial and residential customers.
- Ensure timely delivery schedules are met, navigating routes effectively using company-provided tools.
- Properly scan and record package information using a handheld device.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues courteously and professionally.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance needs.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring their integrity from pickup to delivery.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for at least one year.
- Ability to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 75 lbs (with assistance for heavier items).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for handheld device operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role.
- Knowledge of the Cedar Rapids geographic area.
- Experience operating large commercial vehicles.
