Job Description
Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking for meaningful part-time work on weekends? BrightStar Care is seeking dedicated Respite Care Providers to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of families by providing essential short-term relief and support. As a Weekend Respite Care Provider, you will offer temporary, scheduled relief to primary caregivers, allowing them much-needed breaks. Your presence will provide comfort, companionship, and professional care to individuals in their homes, ensuring their safety and well-being while their regular caregivers attend to personal needs or simply rest and recharge. This is an on-site position focused on delivering direct, personalized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engaging activities tailored to the client's interests.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, dressing, and mobility, as needed and outlined in the care plan.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the client.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with light meal preparation.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the care supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions precisely.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience in home care, direct care, or a similar supportive role.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification is a strong plus.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to adapt to various home environments and client needs.
