Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Material Handler and become an essential part of our world-class logistics network. We are seeking dedicated individuals to ensure the smooth flow of packages through our Santa Ana facility. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in receiving, sorting, loading, and unloading packages, ensuring timely delivery and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from trailers, trucks, and conveyor belts, by hand or using powered equipment.
- Sort and scan packages according to destination, ensuring accurate placement for timely delivery.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided if necessary), in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
- Identify and report any damaged packages or discrepancies to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs unassisted.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and performing repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or material handling role.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
