Job Description
Are you an early riser looking for a dynamic weekend role? Tesco is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Warehouse Pickers to join our Sheffield distribution centre for weekend AM shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders and store replenishment items according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet trucks, order pickers) after proper training.
- Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet Tesco standards before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity targets.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management tasks as required.
- Report any issues, discrepancies, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene.
Required Skills
- Ability to work weekend AM shifts (typically Saturday and Sunday mornings).
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and check order details.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as powered pallet trucks (PPT) or order pickers (LLOP), with relevant certification.
