Job Description
Jim’s Painting in Geelong is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Accent Wall Paint Helper to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to learn the painting trade and contribute to stunning interior design projects. You will work alongside experienced painters, assisting with the preparation and execution of accent wall installations, ensuring impeccable finishes and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing work areas, including masking, taping, and covering furniture and flooring to protect surfaces.
- Help with surface preparation, such as cleaning, sanding, and performing minor patching to ensure smooth finishes.
- Support painters in accurately mixing paints and maintaining proper paint consistency.
- Assist in applying paint to accent walls using various techniques, including rolling, brushing, and detailed taping.
- Maintain a clean and organised job site, including proper disposal of waste and debris.
- Clean tools, brushes, and all painting equipment thoroughly after each use.
- Load and unload materials and supplies efficiently and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company procedures at all times.
- Provide general support to the lead painter as needed to ensure project efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and proven reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Physical stamina and capability to lift moderately heavy objects (e.g., paint cans, ladders).
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in painting or general labour roles is beneficial, though not required.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation.
- Possession of a White Card (Construction Induction Card) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of different paint types and application methods.
