Job Description
Are you an energetic individual who thrives on staying active and exploring your community on foot? FedEx is seeking dedicated and reliable Delivery Runners to join our team in Greenville, SC. This unique role is perfect for active individuals who prefer a non-driving delivery method, utilizing a combination of walking, cycling, or public transport within designated urban zones to ensure timely package delivery. You will be instrumental in enhancing our last-mile delivery capabilities, providing crucial support to our traditional fleet, and fostering direct community connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently deliver packages to residential and business customers within an assigned walking/cycling route.
- Adhere strictly to delivery schedules and deadlines to ensure prompt service.
- Maintain the security and integrity of all packages during transport and delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service, including professional interaction and problem-solving at delivery points.
- Utilize handheld devices for scanning packages, tracking deliveries, and recording delivery information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team leaders regarding route status or delivery issues.
- Conduct daily pre-trip checks for any assigned equipment (e.g., bicycle) if applicable.
- Navigate routes efficiently, demonstrating good knowledge of the local area.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to optimize delivery processes.
Required Skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and ability to walk/cycle for extended periods with packages.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic technological proficiency for using handheld scanning devices.
- Must be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
