Job Description
Are you passionate about animal welfare and dedicated to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for our furry, scaly, and feathered friends? Mondou in Trois-Rivières is looking for a meticulous and compassionate Pet Store Cage Cleaner to join our team. This vital, behind-the-scenes role ensures our animals live in pristine conditions, contributing directly to their well-being and the overall success of our store. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of animal enclosures, cages, tanks, and habitats following strict hygiene protocols.
- Remove waste, soiled bedding, and uneaten food promptly and effectively.
- Replenish fresh water and food for all animals as required.
- Monitor animal living conditions and report any signs of illness, injury, or distress to management immediately.
- Clean and maintain storage areas for animal supplies, food, and cleaning equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures related to animal handling and chemical use.
- Assist with other general store maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
Required Skills
- A genuine love and respect for animals of all kinds.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict safety and hygiene protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a pet store, animal shelter, or similar animal care environment.
- Knowledge of basic animal husbandry and hygiene practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
