Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tow Truck Operator to join our dynamic team on a 24/7 roster. This crucial role involves providing prompt and professional roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, and transportation services across Temecula and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional customer service skills, and a commitment to safety. This position offers a competitive base salary along with attractive commission opportunities, rewarding your hard work and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks safely and efficiently to transport disabled vehicles.
- Provide roadside assistance services including jump-starts, tire changes, fuel delivery, and lockout services.
- Assess vehicle damage and determine the best course of action for safe towing or recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, vehicle information, and payments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and industry regulations.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the tow truck and equipment.
- Handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
Required Skills
- Valid California Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional tow truck operating experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stoop, kneel, bend, and climb.
- Basic computer skills for dispatch and record-keeping.
- Geographical knowledge of Temecula and surrounding Riverside County areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class A or B endorsement (not required for all towing types, but a plus).
- Experience with various types of towing equipment and recovery techniques.
- Prior experience in a similar fast-paced emergency service environment.
- Certification in towing and recovery operations.
