Job Description

Join the dynamic team at Idaho Central Arena as a Teen Site Marshall with a focus on Safety & Traffic. This pivotal role is perfect for energetic and responsible individuals aged 16-19 who are eager to contribute to the safe and smooth operation of our events. You will be instrumental in ensuring attendee safety, managing pedestrian and vehicular flow, and providing a positive experience for all visitors. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a fast-paced environment, develop leadership skills, and be a crucial part of Boise’s vibrant event scene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in guiding pedestrian traffic efficiently and safely within the venue and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor designated areas for potential safety hazards or security concerns and report them promptly.
  • Provide clear and polite directions to guests regarding venue entrances, exits, restrooms, and other facilities.
  • Support vehicle flow during event ingress and egress, under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter unauthorized activities and assist guests.
  • Collaborate with the event operations team to ensure smooth transitions between event phases.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to minor incidents or guest inquiries, escalating when necessary.
  • Adhere to all venue policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.

Required Skills

  • Ages 16-19 at the time of application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Punctual, reliable, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Commitment to safety and customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, volunteer work, or school leadership roles.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with the Idaho Central Arena venue or similar large event spaces.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
