Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in a structured RN Residency curriculum, including classroom instruction, simulation labs, and clinical rotations.
- Administer direct patient care under the supervision of experienced RNs and preceptors, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, evaluating patient responses and adjusting care as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in various clinical scenarios.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
Required Skills
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas or eligible for licensure upon hire.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous healthcare experience (e.g., CNA, PCT, volunteer) during nursing school.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within residency).
- Demonstrated leadership potential or involvement in student nursing organizations.
