Job Description
Are you a compassionate cat lover looking for a flexible role? Paradise Pet Resort is seeking dedicated Cattery Attendants to join our team on a casual basis. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about feline welfare, who can commit to flexible shifts across our facilities. As a Cattery Attendant, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, cleaning, and overall well-being of our feline guests, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and attention. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily feeding and fresh water to all feline guests according to established schedules and dietary needs.
- Clean and sanitize cat enclosures, litter boxes, and common areas thoroughly and regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of cats, promptly reporting any signs of illness, injury, or distress to management.
- Administer medications as directed by management or veterinary staff (training provided if necessary).
- Engage with cats through play, petting, and grooming to ensure their social and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, cleaning, medication, and behavioral observations.
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs of feline guests, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition.
- Handle cats gently and confidently, understanding various feline temperaments.
- Ensure all cattery supplies are stocked and alert management when reordering is needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure the welfare of animals and staff.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in animal care, preferably with cats.
- Ability to handle cats of all temperaments safely and calmly.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring animal health and behavior.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a cattery, animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar animal care environment.
- Knowledge of basic feline first aid and common cat diseases.
- Certification in animal care or veterinary assistant programs.
