Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients, often on beds, trolleys, or wheelchairs, between wards, departments, and operating theatres.
  • Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, blood products, and confidential records.
  • Deliver supplies, including linen, medication, and post, to various areas within the hospital.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment by transporting waste and recycling materials.
  • Respond promptly to requests and emergency situations, demonstrating initiative and calm under pressure.
  • Provide compassionate and supportive interaction with patients, offering reassurance and assistance as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, manual handling guidelines, and infection control policies.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, and visitors.
