Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Chemist to lead our cutting-edge research and development initiatives in Kansas City, Missouri. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of chemists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the design, execution, and interpretation of complex chemical experiments and analyses.
- Drive the development of new chemical processes and products from conception through to commercialization.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Implement and refine quality control procedures for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Provide expert technical guidance and problem-solving support to various departments.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings and project progress.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements.
- Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical research and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of various analytical techniques (e.g., GC-MS, HPLC, NMR, FTIR).
- Proven track record of successful product development and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory requirements in a chemical laboratory setting.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or agricultural chemical industry.
- Published research or patents in relevant chemical fields.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies in a laboratory setting.
