Job Description
Are you eager to launch a career in skilled trades and learn a valuable craft from the ground up? The Home Depot is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Click-Laminate Starter. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience in flooring, but a strong desire to learn the precise art of laminate floor installation. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on training in surface preparation, material handling, cutting, fitting, and ensuring high-quality finishes. If you’re physically fit, reliable, and ready to commit to learning, we want to invest in your development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced flooring installers with the preparation of subfloors and work areas.
- Learn and practice proper techniques for cutting, laying, and securing click-laminate flooring.
- Help with material staging, transport, and waste removal on job sites.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, punctuality, and a strong willingness to follow instructions and learn new skills.
- Support the team in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and aptitude to learn new skills quickly.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic understanding of measurements and angles (or willingness to learn).
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Boston area.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork.
- No prior experience required – we provide comprehensive training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a general labor or construction role.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
