Job Description
Are you a motivated 15-year-old looking for your first job experience in a friendly, fast-paced environment? Panera Bread in Cedar Rapids is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Kitchen Porters to support our kitchen operations. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the ropes of the food service industry, work alongside a great team, and enjoy free staff meals! We’re looking for someone to start ‘subito’ – immediately – to help us maintain our high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. No prior experience is required; we provide all the training you need. If you’re eager to contribute and learn, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with washing dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans, ensuring all kitchenware is clean and ready for use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including floors, counters, and equipment.
- Support the culinary team by keeping workstations tidy and restocking supplies as needed.
- Help with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, such as washing vegetables.
- Dispose of waste and recycling properly, following company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
